The posts on the forums have been really helpful in doing my application, but couldn't find answers about the timing of the application. I graduated in May 2004 (cumulative 2.6 MCAT of 31Q), but without completing my organic requirement. I'm taking it now and will be done in August with the summer sequence. Should I apply for the January 2005 class, or does it make more sense to wait for September 2005? Have all the customary letters of rec, NYC 911 EMT, research etc.

Also, I have only one semester of physics lab and lecture, does that matter since the SGU site only says that one semester is required?

Thanks!

I know when I applied a coupla months ago, I was finishing up orgo and physics, and my admissions counselor said they consider apps if just a coupla prereqs are missing on the understanding that an accepted applicant will have completed them by the time of matriculation. You def don't have to wait for the sept 05 class, you can apply for jan right now and prob get a decision pretty soon. I think your MCAT will get you in for sure for Jan. They say they look at everything, but this is a MCAT/grades game and with a 31, you have little if anything to worry about.

Apply for the Jan 2005 class you have plenty of time.
The school will ask for your final transcript with all of your courses done so they know that you have successfully completed your requirements.

i was accepted without organic 2 lab. all i had to do was to write a letter stating why i did not take it and that i was not planning to take it in the future. you can get accepted in to SGU without "a" requirment. I had a very high GPA though, so i don't know if that had anything to do with it. 8)
