I was wondering if anyone knows for a fact (have already called the boards) that Spartan students are eligible for clerkships, and grads are approved for residency and licensure in New York and Washington states.
Thanks!
Kirst:
I've never personally called either of these 2 State Med Boards, but I personally know of at least one person who did clinicals in N.Y. I also know of many Spartan grads currently doing their residency in N.Y. In addition, there are both Washington State Residents and active physicians who graduated from Spartan (partial list for WA below, including one which also trained in N.Y.). Let us know if you find any other info. Best of luck!

As far as I know, Spartan does not have full approval in NY at this time. What that means is that you are limited to 12 weeks of rotations, and may only do residency at a VA facility (like the internship mentioned in the previous post). Licensure however is possible after completion of a residency. If you have any questions, the simplest path is always to simply contact the state board. these numbers can be found at :www.fsmb.org
