So.
I looked that someone stated the difference between starting in Jan and or in september. But not enough details/specifics are stated. Is it true that one can finish in 3 years, if so how is this acomplished.
Im nos sure if i want to start in Jan or in Sept, i woudl like some input from people that have started in either semester, and how long it takes to finish school, and how its puts you in regards to Match day

If i finish undergrad, and take MCAT in April, when do you guys recomed that i should aply, i guess in Jan of 2006. But, then how would that put me in reference to Match Day. Since i have no clue as to the timing of clinicals, and all the requisits needed for residency, i would like you guys or anyone who has started in January to tell me how you have managed your time to be able to be ready for residency.
I will finish all my undergrad work by may 2005, and will do MCAT in april. I wonder what you guys think.
Would i be able to aply for sept, or wait for january 2006.
I saw somwhere about the posible problems in startig in jan in regards to Match Day. What do you guys think, and can you elaborate about this issue.
thank's
Sounds like Doctor1 to me....

If you're taking federal loans, starting in Jan has you finishing (hopefully) around August. Too late for that years match, you'll have to wait for the next years (10 months to start work, more or less). On the one hand, that gives you time to really study for Step II. On the other hand, you'll be out of school for more than 6 months and have to start paying your loans back.
Or at least thats how I understand it. If I'm wrong (which is certainly likely), please explain how it works.
Also, aside from being necessary for licensure, do Step II scores really matter for anything? Do they factor into the match?
Thanks.

just because you have 6 months before the match to play with for taking time off for step one or taking a week or two here and there between rotations for down time, or having to wait for a location that you really really really want.....10 months is probably too much

Bump - Is my analysis about the match, et al about right?
