I wonder why they actually charge the departure tax? I was soo lucky to have a 20 dollar bill in my pocket last month when I visited home as I was totally unware of the tax.

Are you sure it's $30? When my family visited last break they told me they paid $25 instead of $20? Does anyone know for sure? :?

What I remember hearing was that it was raised to $25 for the rest of the year and next year, it bumps up again to $30. I heard it on the radio a few weeks ago.
