Has anyone been rejected by AUC?

Does anyone know what would it take in order for one not to be accepted to AUC, in terms of GPA MCAT ROL, or statement.

I have read several peoples' posts stating that for one reason or another they were denied admission. Usually low GPAs or MCAT scores will do the trick. MEIO said they like to see GPA over 3 and MCAT over 20 to be competitive (what ever that means for a foreign school).

I was in the admin office this week. I saw, the master list of applicants for the fall class sitting on the desk. It included names, GPA's, MCAT scores, and the school's final decision. Of the few that I saw, accepted students had very good numbers. There were to set your mind at ease, quite a few denied applicants.

Some chick posted earlier that the AUC forum is the most entertaining. I don't know why she thinks that is a plus. What I have seen is that this forum is the most consistently degrading toward prospective caribbean students. These people like FLK, anen-whatever, and often teratos seem to think that insults, clever (so they think) quips, and flip dismissals of serious important questions (with xyz gpa, mcat, etc, can i get in?), that they are performing a service of some sort.

I have news for you guys. People don't come here for your supposedly brilliant wit. If I had to guess, I would wager that the number one, numero uno (for our brethren at unibe) reason people come here is to assess their chances at xyz school.

Therefore, when you say don't bother asking that here, I believe you negate pretty much the main purpose of the forum. I first joined this forum almost a year ago, and took ten months to reach 100 posts, but reached 150 about two wks later, a function of too much free time, granted, but spending far too much time here in the last two wks has definitely drilled in me the following; the AUC "moderators", unlike any others, thrive on personal insults, school-bashing, general overall negativity, and a basic refusal to offer any advice of substance and instead entertain each other with their silly nonsense.

Go ahead and ban me; it will be a tremendous favor. As for yourselves, continue to divert prospective students to the illustrious MEIO, the so-called "warm bodies", where I am SURE they will get all the answers (intense sarcasm intended).

If you are calling me out because I've been hounding you for disseminting false information about AUC, then so be it. Be a man and accept the fact that you were wrong.

If you are bitter towards the AUC community in general because you wanted so desperately to be here with your 24 MCAT (a "wet dream", as you put it for AUC) and your GPA of 2.5/2.4, yet were rejected, then I can understand where your lack of objectivity, sarcasm, and negativity stem from.

If you are hostile because when you couldn't gain admission to a number of offshore schools, sought advice on this website, and got a reality check which you didn't necessarily agree with (on this and numerous other fora, I might add), then perhaps those criticisms (constructive and otherwise) have fallen on deaf ears.

You will remember, Raj, that when you first came here to the AUC forum, everyone was genuinely interseted in helping you in your pursuit of an MD. Things did not go the way you wanted, you began to hurl personal insults to many of the moderators and members, threw your tantrum and spewed negativity to whoever would listen. Then you were warned. And a new, more civil RajPatel emerged. Guess what? A lot of us remember the old Raj and know that that person still exits. I am sure we'll see him again.

i'm the one that had the positive view of the AUC forum...
just b/c they don't want to have repeated topics, like getting into AUC or getting rejected, etc, doesn't mean that they are directly DISMISSING anyone. maybe the forum might need to make "sticky" posts on very "popular" topics, so that everyone sees and knows that that issue has been addressed. there may be some ppl that will post mean, nasty, completely useless posts, but doesn't that come with the territory? anywhere you go in life, you'll find mean, nasty, useless comments thrown at you. and if your negative sentiments stem from a bad admissions experience from AUC, i would suggest that you use your energy into rectifying THAT and keep up with your goal of being an MD, than chomping down on posts here.
overall, i still like this forum best and i've been posting a bit here too :)
then again, i have reasons to be a bit partial here...
