Does anyone know of any good complexes to rent from (close to campus). 1-2 bedroom. Where do most students end up? Thank you in advance

Try the website www.fidelity.ky and www.century21cayman.com they have alot of places to rent. There are alot of places to rent close to school. Are you single because if so you are required to stay in the residence hall the first semester. Which helps with your initial move and then you can find a place for the remaining semesters. Hope that helps.

All 1st semester students are required to live in the Residence Hall. This should make for a smoother transition.

You can contact the housing coordinator for further details.

Good luck!

what do you mean as first semesters?

are you referring solely to new students who are not transfers?

or are you also referring to students who may be transferring from other institutions (and so they may be entering as 3 or 4 semesters) but it is there first semester of study as st. matthews?

I know that if you are a new 1st semester student who are required to live in the hall. I am not sure about transfer students, I have not seen any info related to that.

By first semester, I mean that it will be your first semester at SMU (regardless whether you are a new first semester student or a transfer).

Maybe you ought to direct that question to JP. I do not know if they require transfer students to stay at the residence hall regardless of what semester you are in.

I was basing my answer on the observation that I made on a lot of transfer students currently residing in the Residence Hall.

Now, I'm sure if you really want to get out of living in the Residence Hall, under extenuating circumstances, this may be allowed.

Good luck!

Is anyone familiar with any complex or houses that allows pets (2 cats)? I hope to start classes at SMU this coming fall. The links were great, but just wanted to check and see if there were other apartments.

Anyone coming in to SMU stays their first semester (no matter what semester classes they are taking) in the Hall, unless they are bringing dependents down.

I checked the websites from fidelity, and century 21. I was told by fidelity that the minimum time for a lease is a year. I plan on being in the caymans for at least 8 months. Are there some landlords that will be willing to lease for 8 months? Has anyone had any problems getting apartments. I was told to check Cayman Villas, and it is way too expensive for me. Any suggestions?

Lime Tree Bay? Ocean Club? (Help me out MDTOB or AmericanIMG if I'm off on those).

I searched the housing places that you mentioned. I found this site that may be helpful to others. Any suggestions to which places I should look into?

1. Is there any space in the RH left for Fall? I'm still waiting on my application decision, so I'm just worried it may be full considering it's so late.
2. How many single/double rooms are there in the RH and what's the total capacity?
3. Any nice places close to campus that you guys can recommend?
4. Any places that rent on a month-to-month basis?
5. Any places to stay away from?

Thanks.

I stayed in Cayman Falls Condos (1 year lease), 200 yds from school. 2 bedrooms costing all in $2600 per month. Many student share and you might be able to sublet for a short period. The condos are on top of a strip mall but are well fitted out.
Lime tree is about 500 yards and is a little cheaper. Several students stayed long term at Sunshine Suites (300 yards) which has studio apts.
When I was in Cayman most students stayed in condos in West Bay 10-20 minute drive. Lots of options, many will take pets.
