THE FOLLOWING IS A COPY OF AN EMAIL SENT TO A FOURTH SEMESTER STUDENT REGARDING THE NEW POLICY (AMOUNTS FOR LOANS) FOR THE FINANCIAL AID CHANGES THAT ARE TAKING PLACE EFFECTIVE WITH THE SEPT 2004 SEMESTER:

Most of the forms for the September 2004 semester are not yet available
to you but will be by the first week of July. You may begin the process,
however, by filing your 2004-05 FAFSA and printing the resultant SAR
2004-05 (when available) so that you will have the pages to give to the
Registrar's office along with the other financial aid forms.

At this time, you may also complete a Stafford Master Promissory Note
and a Signature Student loan application, and retain along with the SAR
until the other forms arrive on campus.

The yellow-colored forms are not valid for the September 2004 loans.
There will be pink forms available by July 1st!

Your budget for your 5th semester will be $23, 724. You may apply for
$9, 250 Staffords and $14, 474 Signature. END OF EMAIL

THIS AN EMAIL ADDRESSED FOR A FUTURE FIFTH SEMESTER. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE FOR ANY CURRENT FIRST THROUGH THIRD SEMESTERS IS THAT THE SIGNATURE LOAN AMOUNT ALLOWED FOR THOSE CLASSES IS 500 DOLLARS LESS.

I KNOW THAT A LOT OF MY CLASSMATES ARE CONFUSED ABOUT THIS NEW WAY THAT FINANCIAL AID WILL BE DONE AND HOW MUCH MONEY WILL BE COMING FROM EACH SOURCE SO HERE IT IS.

I was wondering where my yellow colored form was!!

This sucks, my school takes 6-10 weeks to confer my degree, which means basically I'll be cutting the cheese in the time to get my money to pay for my vacation-education!
