I just mailed my application for overnight delivery this morning, but I'm very nervous about my personal statement not sure its good enough, since I'm not that good at writing them, so I've decided to finalize hopefully tonight then fax and mail it to St. Matthews tommorrow. Is it possible that I wont have to wait 2 full weeks for a decision since it is so close to August? I though I read someone in this forum say that they were accepted in less than a week.

Since we are only about 1.5 months away from the next semester, I'm sure the school would notify applicants a little earlier to compensate for the small window of time and to allow them to get all the proper paperwork done in time (i.e. immigration papers, health papers, etc.).
If you are a borderline applicant, the personal statement becomes very important. It gives the admissions comm. a chance to become acquainted with you, and ultimately it is your last chance to impress the admissions comm.
Good luck!

Dont worry about your submission mate, just concentrate on your other activities so as to take your mind off things otherwise you'll stress yourself out.....i got my reply within a week of applying and I was accepted.......
Once you've met the acceptance criteria.....you're most likely to be accepted so just relax and give the team some time to do their work..... The admission team at SMU are excellent especially Adrianna and Giselle.i cant thank them enough for their help and benevolence ....they're a credit to the school. :D
