I have to agree with Josh's comment that this block exam demoralizing the entire student body. For some mysterious reason, the first block exam went fine and good. but the real trouble emerged with the second block. I simply ran out of time to study a couble class and felt that it was not matter of learning anymore but sheer attempt of survivial for brutal block exams in addition to more frequent exams schedule. Yes. there is no time to recharge as you have exams every three weeks or even less and not enough time to learn the material. I have been told and known as efficient and hard worker when it comes to studying. But now, I dont believe in that classic concept of being a good student anymore with all this non sense exam schedule. OK. I sincerely want to belive that all of this happening is to benefit us and may help us to do well on USMLE. But too much is too much. When you do too much, you are not producing but wasting your resource and energy.
Only God help us. Hope and faith will prevails.

Dang, the last time I had to do block scheduling was middle school!! You know what they say though, medschool is all about the art of learning to take tests. Or at least so I'm told..
seriously though, how the heck do we disable to requirement that we type in a subject for a response?!!

Josh and Jone. you twins rules at AUC. no question about it.
Anyway, I dont belive in making a lot of complaining but I tend to adjust to new challenge and environments at my best ability that suddenly come upon us often with no warning. Life is just like that. not much warning and bang! and you get hit and you dust off and and stand up despite the injuries. But there is time to speak out when the things are too much to tolerate.
The whole idea behind block exams is to improve the students class attendance rates as far as I have understood. But my question is that how is that supposedly "imporved" class attandance rate has resulted in much lower accademic performance evident with last block exam? And why is that despite the far poorer academic performance, the "imporved" attandance is still highely priotized by block exams along with 5 exams per semester while nearly half of the entire class did not pass in multiple exams during last block exam?
Isn't it true that "improved" attendance means better attainment of the lectures and better exam scores? And why is that the opposite is happenning and it must be kept that way? And for what and for whome and for whose benefit for what? who is benefiting from this? If the lower exams scores with better attendance means so much for somebody. then let them make their choice. And the opposite is true. If the better and superior exam scores are more important than stellar attendance for somebody then let them make their choice.
Our hope of is depend on our performace on each exams. We have walked long way to get here despite all the criticism and obstacles in the hope of being a MD.
let us have fair game. the previous student bodies did well with no block 5 exams.
And we have done well so far.
Peace and grace
