that does sound like a rumor. the dean might be the dean but he cannot tell the profs what to put on the exams, or how to grade their classes. i wish he could in some cases but unless a great grievance is presented about an exam, like being tested on material that is outside the scope of the class, then he cant interject. this issue has come up before with pharmacology. in this class, you have two quizes, 10% each, one midterm (20%), one exam given by a visiting prof (about 10%) and a comprehensive final (50%). a lot of students have complained about this but the dean cant change a prof's grading system.

You're right! It is a rumor. After personally speaking with the Dean, no decision has been made and the block exam system is still being evaluated.

That would be me! I could have not taken the exam and be a similar position right now(ok, not that bad but pretty darn close).

As for dropping an exam, I'll buy the Dean a beer if he does this. Anybody else want to do this? :lol: :lol:
