This is the email I got from Admission office..:
"I am writing to inform you that the Faculty of Medicine has recently decided not to admit any non-local undergraduates since non-local students will not be able to do internship in the local hospitals in Hong Kong as advised by the Hong Kong Hospital Authority. Therefore, it would not be advisable for the Faculty of Medicine to admit this category of students for the 2004
entry. In this sense, your application for the Medicine programme will not be processed further. We would like to ask whether you prefer to change your choice of study to another programme at this University.
If yes, please let us know which programme you wish to apply for.
If not, we will refund you the application fee.
> Your reply by 21 June will be much appreciated.
> Yours sincerely

"About the definition of "local students", you may refer to 'note 2' of the "Guide on Application for Admission": holders of a Hong Kong Identity Card can find out from their HKID cards if they have the right of above in Hong Kong. If there is a symbol "A" under the date of birth on their HKID cards, they have the right of abode in Hong Kong; otherwise they do not have such a right.
We consider your status at the time of lodging the application.
