cable service options on SXM

I know this topic has been touched on before, but I wanted to know if there was more than one cable service provider on the island?

What is the deal with bringing down your own box? do they rape you?
Can someone tell me the make and model number of the most current issued box?

Also, what about illegal descramblers? Do any of them work down there?

How much is a package with HBO, Cinamax, Showtime, etc?

Finally, can you use a satellite provider like Dish Network or DishTV?

there's only St. Maarten Cable TV here (t's from a NYC feed...probably pirated...but oh well). You can use a dish I suppose, but i'm not sure about the details on how or where you'd go to set one up.

Descramblers...I use one. Lots do. I've got extra if you want one. email me.

a package w/ just HBO (included in basic cable) is like $40.00/month. The 'extended' package w/ MTV, cinemax i believe and a few more channels is $50.00.

WHy pay the money if you can get a descrambler. I'm not sure exactly which brands work on the island...but I have ones that do.
