Hey Doc1,
glad to see someone else is thinking wayy in advance. Since I found out about this school I've been ready to go...I still need to take my MCAT in about 2 months, but I already have my application all filled out. Have you already been accepted?

Hey Doctor1
Well I have looked at the application, but probably wont submit it until November or December. I still have to finish O. Chem 2. Other then that everything else is done. Hope we both get in. Good luck on your admission process I hope it wont be a hassle as alot of people say it is.

You may be off track for September 2005 if you are taking your MCAT in April. It ususally takes 6-8 weeks for you to receive your scores back, putting you, at the very worst, at the end of June. The entire application process (if you are lucky and MEIO doesn't loose anything) should take anywhere from 6-8 weeks, again, putting any possible acceptance at the beginning of August. Not unusual, but bear in mind that you will be applying for a spot in the September class, traditionally the largest and most competitive. I am in so way implying that it's impossible, just being realistic.

So, would you recomed that i wait and aply for January 2005 semester?
Is so how would this put me in reference to Match Day, or by when would i finish my education, and have all of requisits for Match Dat.
If i start in Jan, and if i finish in 9.5 semesters, it seems that i would finish sometime in 2009.
What do you guys recomend.

No since Jan 2005 is earlier than Sept 2005.
Best thing to do is to talk to MEIO. Tell them of your situation and see if you can a conditional acceptance letter if you MCAT score is above a certain score, etc.

To all 2005 prospects
Just curious as to where everyone is from and what their current stats are. I know it doesnt all depend on stats but im just curious. So i will go first.
location: Los Angeles, California...Im honestly sick of California now and cant wait to leave.
Undergrad GPA: 3.20
Science GPA: 3.30
MCAT score: 20
My GPA is low due to my first year in college. Only if i could take that year back. Oh well gotta look towards the future. I hope AUC accepts me.
Good Luck to everyone else.

I think you should be fine for AUC, if I were you, I would raise that MCAT a bit more but otherwise, you are a perfect candidate for AUC(even without a higher MCAT).
If you wanted, you can even try for the Sept 2004 class(pushing it but I've seen worse) or the Jan 2005 class.
As for being sick of SoCal... you'll take those words back soon after you start med school.... trust me

Thanks for the response, hearing you say that really puts a little ease on my mind. I really dont plan on taking the MCAT again, I hope the 20 will pull me through. i was reading somewhere else on this forum that AUC wants an MCAT score of 20 or above, so i figured my score would be okay. As of this point AUC is my number one choice but I am considering Ross and SABA. But if AUC accepts me I will definately go there.
I was born and raised in California so Im waiting to leave. It has become way to crowded here. No matter where you drive you will always hit traffic. It sucks :D

Well, you'll appreciate the fact that SXM has one lane for each direction and most of the locals (and some students) will stop in the middle of the street just to say hi to someone in the oncoming traffice lane. It's great that they think they can blockade the entire road just to make small talk.
BTW, you'll love it here.
