Hey there skyfrog. What is your name? How are you doing and how do u find AUC? What are the pros and cons of it? So, where did u attend college and what was your major in college? By the way, I am thinkin about tryin to transfer to UGA or Emory...so please give me some feedback on how those two schools are in terms of gettin me into a good med school if you could. I hope things are goin fine and take care. TTYL.

hi samar,
i'm robert. i graduated from emory with a ** in neuroscience and behavioral biology and am currently a third semester student at AUC.
i've been pretty happy with my education here so far-- some teachers are better than others, of course, but i definitely feel like i have access to all the resources i'll need to do well on usmle1. i would say the main "pro" of AUC is that you're able to live fairly comfortably while getting a good education. st maarten is relatively well-developed for a caribbean island (think Eastwood, but take out the Milo's Hamburgers and put a lagoon where the mall is), and i think that's one of the main things that attracts a lot students here (myself included) over some of the other reputable off-shore schools. i think the only real "cons" to the school are those that come with any off-shore school-- which is perhaps another discussion altogether.
as far as transferring to UGA or emory goes, i am 100% confident that either of those schools, like UAB where you are currently attending, is perfectly capable of preparing you to be successful in medical school, as long as you work hard and do well. i would guess that for the three schools in discussion, emory's pre-meds probably have the highest acceptance rate into US medical schools, followed by UGA then UAB-- but do keep in mind that it's not the school that gets you in, it's you! if you have any specific questions about emory's pre-med program, i'll be happy to answer them, but do realize that working hard and doing well at UAB is not going to keep you out of any medical school, US or off-shore.
say hi to Milo's for me,
rob't
