View Full Version : Interview advice
can anyone share what might be on the interview? I have one set for next week.
From what I was told at SDN it was going to be stuff over my application and what I know about SABA, the school and island?
is there anything else I should prepare for?

From my experience, the interview is pretty low key and laid back. You will be interviewed by a panel of around five people over a conference call. In my opinion, they are really just trying to see if you have thought out your career plans and are realistically ready to go study medicine on a small island. You will probably have spoken to a few of the interviewers before if you have been in touch with the Gardner office. The sound of a familiar voice upped my comfort level greatly.
It seemed to help that I had visited the island, but I imagine that most people have not.
The best advice I can give you is probably the same your mother would give -- just relax and be yourself.
Best of Luck on your interview!
P.S. They WILL ask you why you want to be a Doctor!
It's pretty much what ResearchingGuy said. With my interview, they basically asked me questions and I talked about myself. They explained to me what to expect at SABA, asked me if I had questions, etc. Basically, just be yourself and honest. It was laid back so after a few minutes, I became less nervous. They were friendly! :)
