ok..before you get yelled at because you did not do a search for the subject let me explain it:

this is the first semester where auc has started their block testing system. this means that all your exams are on the last friday of the third week or the first monday on the fourth week, every three weeks. basically you have exams every three weeks on friday and then after the weekend on monday. for example, fourth semester has three classes; so we had one exam this past friday and then we had two exams today. this will switch for the next cluster in three weeks when we will have two on friday and one on monday. for the semesters that have four classes it means two exams on each day. first semester has two exams on one of the days and one on the other day.

there is much controversy if this system is working. for every student that tells you it sucks, you will get another that likes it. as for me, i am slowly getting used to it... but you cannot take a day off from studying something. whether the students like it or not... in my opinion this system is here to stay and we must all adjust. there is a weakness in the new system in every semester but i dont think that it can be blamed entirely on the test schedule. you can see what i mean by the extreme change in the stress levels: the first week all is cool, second week the sweat beads appear on the forehead and the third week leading up to the exams just about everyone is on defcon 1. my theory: take some of defcon 1 and transfer to week 1 and its not bad. the people that are used to studying for an exam a few nights before it, cant do that anymore. as for everyone's grades... i dont think that third and fourth semesters are good examples right now... the older students were used to a certain way and now its all the sudden new. the first semester class is the best indicator of how this system is going to pan out. the first semesters think they were killed on the second biochem exam today but the fact of the matter is that every class here has gotten killed on the second exam in biochem... its all the pathways :roll: . and as for anatomy; the averages and tested material is right on the money. as for biostats... i dont know any class (the majority that is) that was not woken up on the first biostats exam because they studied for it the night before.
