Hey all,
Even though I used Digicel my first term, I wasn't happy with them.
Planning on bringing down a phone with me and hooking up to AT & T for
cell service.
Does anyone know what I should be looking for in a phone that I bring down? (TDMA;CDMA; GSM etc.?)

You'll need an unlocked or AT&T Wireless Tri-Mode or Quad-Mode GSM phone.
Dual or single band GSM cell phones from the US do not have the same frequency as the Caribbean.

where can i get more information on at&t coverage in grenada?
i called their 1-800 numbers and they said they did not have a network in grenada at this time, just roaming for 1.69/min.
thanks!

The AT&T service is GSM in Grenada, but make sure your phone is unlocked. Pones purchased in the states from a cell phone company(like cingular or T-mobile) are locked to be used only by that company. I have T-mobile in the states and they were happy to unlock my phone, but I do maintain my account in the states while i'm at school, so they're not losing out on my money.
You can get GSM phones on ebay, but again make sure they're unlocked so you can change out the SIM chip. ATT in grenada charges 25EC for the chip.

Is AT&T offering cable or DSL internet access?

No unfortunately C&W are still the only one offering internet services, though you can get internet service on your phone through AT&T.

Do you think that will happen soon? I remember reading an article about how AT&T would expand their services there to include internet, but it didn't say when.
Bringing in some competition would certainly help service to improve there, I'm sure.

NOTHING happens soon in Grenada. Case in point - internet in the dorms.
