Just curious,
Are we charged for INCOMING calls, from US/Canada on our cell phone?
What about INCOMING calls on a landline?
Thanks,

Incoming calls on most cell phones are free... however, the person calling is charged 45-50cents/min (that's US cents) :-) For rates and additional information, see:
Cable and Useless: Prepaid plan states incoming are free, post-paid plan doesn't...
http://mobile.candw.gd/Plans_index.htm
Digicel: All plans state incoming free
http://www.digicelgrenada.com/products/
AT&T Wireless GDA: Don't seem to have a website up yet, closest I could find:

Last term I was in the states and I tried calling from my AT&T cellphone to my SO in Grenada who had cable and wireless...the first 8 calls worked, then I couldn't seem to get through. I checked with my phone company, he checked with his phone company, we kept trying for weeks. I could tell you the rest in detail, but suffice it to say that the diagnosis was that Cable and Wireless was blocking incoming calls from all AT&T cellphones in the US, even though the representative who spoke with my SO said they were not.
Moral of the story: Cable and Wireless = gimpy
Just my personal anecdote.

incoming calls are free with cell phones. however, at least w/ cable and useless calls dont come in or simply last 2 minutes. With Digicel sometimes my parents can't get through either. The problem is that Digicel and AT&T share a network and sometimes the Digicel phone switches automatically to AT&T network and it doesn't work. If this happens all you have to do is go to Settings --> Other Settings --> Network --> Digicel (if you have Digicel that is !!! )

Digicel was the best out there.... cheapest and better signal than C and W (however still had to go outside of SD2 in order to get a reliable signal)... However, ATT wireless has just started... ancedotally I have heard they have a better network than Digicel (but not sure of the prices however)

I've heard more complaints about digicell than AT&T, but thats nothing compared to people's gripes with C&W (we call it "Cable & Useless" down here). The only thing i've heard bad about AT&T is that once your phone is activated it might take awhile before calling card companies in the US recognize your number as valid. Sometimes that just depends on what calling card your family is using. I use C&W but only because it was a free hand-me-down phone from someone switched over to AT&T.

Ask people who have had both digicel and AT&T and see what they think of it. I can't say anything for AT&T but digicel is much better than cable and useless. All I can tell you is that AT&T has higher rates for calling the states. Digicel is now 0.99 EC/min.

where can i get more information on at&t coverage in grenada?
i called their 1-800 numbers and they said they did not have a network in grenada at this time, just roaming for 1.69/min.
thanks!
