1. When I compute my science gpa, do I include only the classes required by SGU (i.e., bio I, II and lab, chem I, II and lab, orgo I, II and lab, one semester of physics, one semester of english, one semester of math), or do I include all of my science courses ever taken?

2. What about repeated courses? (For example, I retook chem I. Do I include both grades in figuring my gpa or do I just use the second grade/repeated grade? For the science gpa and the overall gpa?)

3. I attended another college during the summer. Do I just average the two gpa's to find my overall or should I have two seperate overall gpas?

I think you just average all GPA's from all schools you attended to figure out your overall GPA. I'm not sure about the repeat course grades or the science GPA.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over this.
The overall gpa is calculated by converting all the letter grades into numbers such as A is 4, B is 3 etc and divide that by the sum of the hours of classes you took. Take into account all the classes you ever took including summers and different colleges. So lets say you got a ** in all of your classes then you get 360/120 hours which comes out to 3.0.

The science gpa includes all your science classes including the prereqs, biology, math. basically anything that is not literature history philosophy etc. I think repeated classes should be in there as well excluding withdrawals. basically any science class you received a grade.
If you make a mistake bayshore will correct it.
Good luck

Hi CuriousCat,

I also suggest calling the school. From there, figure your GPA's and enter them into the application the best you can. Bay Shore DOES go over all your calculations, and makes sure everything is entered and converted properly. They WILL NOT submit your application to the Admissions Committee unless the numbers are right. If there's a change in what you calculated, they'll call you and let you know before you application goes to the committee. This was my experience.

Hope this helps! Try not to lose too much sleep over it. :)
