How much is it to do laundry? Do we need to bring down detergent? How well does air dry work, or does the humidity defeat the purpose of air dry?

if you are in the superdorms, there are 2 washer/dryers per floor. there are also several at the grand anse campus. both are free of charge.

you will need to purchase your own detergent.

Just a fair warning, bring something to read if you are going to go do laundry. You may have to wait in line -- for a while. That happened to me a couple of times when I was at Grand Anse. True Blue was OK.

I was off-campus for 4th term. I stayed in the apartments by the Brown Sugar restaurant (sp?). I made a deal with the lady that cleaned my apartment. I gave her 20 EC a week, and she would wash, dry, iron, and fold my clothes.

I tried air drying once at Vinnie's b/c the dryer wasn't working. It seemed to be working fine, until out of nowhere it started raining.

No, Grenada may not have the latest movies, but the supermarket does sell laundry detergent, and with quite a selection. Hopefully mom/girl friend has given you (plural) lessons on how to do laundry. That may seem funny, but you'd be surprised.

If you dodge the sporatic rain then you're ok. Some people however don't like to have all of their laundry out for people to see. Many apartments actually come with a washer but no dryer.

There may be 2 laundry rooms per floor in the superdorms (the 6 person suites each have their own washer and dryer) but that doesn't mean they work. The same thing for grand anse. It seems to be a popular place for off-campus people to do their laundry.

And that's not all....there's also twice a week cleaning lady that cleans your room. Mine was a sweetheart & would sometime even fold my laundry if i just dumped it on my bed & ran to class, did the dishes & even made my roomie's bed once.

Nice, eh?!

Note, that is the exception, NOT the rule as far as the maids go. I guess you got lucky.

Laundry is free but I would recommend bringing down detergent. Good brands are pricy. Depends on what you use I guess.
