Does anyone know if the Royal charges a deposit for a room? I was looking into the smaller ($650) room. Between the plane ticket, the deposits, the tests, passport and everything it seems like it will cost me $3k before I even leave! Sheesh!

When I stayed there, the Royal had a deposit of $1000 per room. That was last semester though.

The deposit is $1000 USD. My advice is to pay that on a credit card so you'll have a record of payment. The idiots over there have a history of poor bookkeeping and suddenly showing no record of your payments. I know of several students that have been accused of such, when indeed they did pay. Keep your own records, it's a good habit to get into. You'll see when you get here, you'll have to think for yourself and the locals as well aaaaaannndd you'll have to predict the mistakes that they will make.....

What about tuition statements? I haven't received any billing from umhs yet.

You register during orientation. They'll print out your list of classes and if you agree to the class schedule, then you'll pay for your tuition then.
