Can anyone tell me a bit more about this health insurance company? I heard you can buy it once youre on the island.
Also, whats the voltage down there? do i need to bring converters or can we get them there?

Hi all,
Through MUA you can get a special health insurance policy while you are a student, follow this link:
cmi-insurance.com/MUA.html
There are links to pricing shown and how to sign up if you so desire.
The island is 220 volt electric, like the UK. However almost all rental apartments/houses and the entire school campus is 120 volt standard US/canada outlets. So no you do not need adapters or converters. Small appliances in 120v are available in most stores, like fans, irons etc.
