Ok, I know this has probably been talk to, at length.:beat:
During the interview day, residents were saying that if your really interested in the program you should come for a second look....spend a weekend there. I know they were "highly" advising it. My question is this; does the PD look at it that you are interested or do they look at it as though you may have some doubt and therefore may not rank the program highly?
I know my brain is telling me "go for the look" My finances are telling me "go for the look only if you really think it will help...."
Any input would be great!

If the residents at that program were strongly recommending a second look then you should go for a second look. They probably aren't saying it for no reason, and maybe they know of a good number of people who were matched/pre-matched after going on a second look.
I do not think that a second look would ever be construed by program directors as a negative -- either they won't really care and it won't make much difference or it will be positive (unless of course you make a huge social blunder - haha). It seems like the residents at the program you interviewed at think the second look is important so I think you should go.
My personal experience with second looks is that after my first interview (at the program I likely would've ranked 2nd) I was offered a pre-match via email by the program director. I knew that my #1 choice offered pre-matches as well, and I'd also just had my interview there, so I set up a second look at my #2 choice (basically to stall and not give an immediate yes) and then one at my #1 choice. When I got to my #1 choice's second look, I told the PD they were my #1 choice and that I would definitely prematch there if asked, and he told me their residency committee had to review my application but he'd get back to me in 1 week. 1 wk later exactly he called and offered a prematch. So, in my case, the second look helped a lot.

Thank you! What you say follows logic.
You're right, I think I'll have to go back there and pray I don't make a social faux pa.

Nice. (Hmmmm... now you have to find another Rangers player to get your picture taken with, though... Drury around anyplace?)
Good luck!

I actually wanted to take a picture with Brashear, but I'd be afraid to smile the wrong way as I may wind up with a black eye and a few teeth missing.
