All who agree type "aye"...
they have definitely done so in the past, but I don't really see how they're doing it now. The biggest offenders seem to be mostly absent lately.

OP might have been, but I wasn't. While you have been a bit absent for a while (at least as far as posting is concerned), I never saw you on a power trip. Welcome back though!

Proud to be American
Music and Lyrics by Lee Greenwood
If tomorrow all the things were gone I’d worked for all my life,
And I had to start again with just my children and my wife.
I’d thank my lucky stars to be living here today,
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom and they can’t take that away.
And I’m proud to be an American where as least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota, to the hills of Tennessee,
across the plains of Texas, from sea to shining sea,
From Detroit down to Houston and New York to LA,
Well, there’s pride in every American heart,
and it’s time to stand and say:
I’m proud to be an American where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.
And I’d gladly stand up next to you and defend her still today.
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land God bless the U.S.A

I thought it looked like the "civilian" version.
Seen what the military have in stored for the future?
Highly configurable and without the problems of the M-16.

Are civilians allowed to own automatic weapons in the U.S.?
lsmith55uf

I agree. I happen to support both.
As far as the replacement, we're still stuck with the M4--although I never had an issue with mine over there, as long as it was kept clean. It fired when it needed to.

i believe in some states and if you have a class III license.....i'm not 100% if this is right, but i know in nevada you can own automatic weapons as long as they are like 15 years old. if you're ever in vegas, there are places where you can fire these things without enlisting......MP5, M4, M60. way more fun than gambling IMO. maybe not as fun as getting trashed and hitting up spearmint rhino though....to each their own

I think in certain states with only semi-automatic mode, although there are workarounds.

yes. Do a google search on class 3 weapons. Under thr NFA (national firearms act) fully automatic weapons registered to civilians prior to May 1986 are transferrable in most states. As you may imagine, there are a finite number of these weapons. They are very expensive. Current value of an M-16 is $15-20,000. You need to file forms/fingerprints with the BATFE, and wait 4 months. You get your paperwork back with a tax stamp. That costs $200. Then there are lots of rules regarding storage....you are the only one who can have access to it. If you plan to take the gun across state lines, you must file paperwork with the BATFE. All in all, they are a ton of fun.
