I know that this question has been raised many times throughout this forum, but most are quite old.
I got words from ross last week that i have been accepted to jan 2010 and today from AUC. From what i know, a few years ago, ross was better. So where should i go? In addition, what are my chances for CA clinical rotations in either school?
Thanks

chances are good from either school, but AUC is definitely the better of the two. for reasons, you're going to have to search. plenty of recent answers on that one.

SGU- less headaches for rotations, better name recognition. Shoddy island.
AUC- better qol, rotations are good enough. Will add more. Quality of education will surpass any other school within a thousand miles if Dr.F makes dean.

they asked about Ross, not SGU, and that's quite a bit of speculation going on there!

Since most people here are AUC students, you are going to get biased answers asking this question on the AUC board.
This being said, I will comment only on what I know from people who have actually attended Ross:
Students who have transferred from Ross to AUC say they like AUC because the island is more developed.
Dr. B, the current Biochem prof, used to teach at Ross and he says there is no comparison between the two islands. Ross is located in a rural area and AUC is located in a resort area.
AUC also has much smaller class sizes, which is a great advantage (in my opinion).

St. Maarten is way more developed then any of the other med school islands. That was my main deciding factor.

if island quality was the only factor for picking a med school, then SMU would be the top of the heap...

They don't have Cuban cigars, $25 bottles of Glenlivit, 80'F temperatures in December, Guavaberry Coladas, BBCs, or Pizza Dan's at Yale. It sounds like hell to me ;)

Ross is on a retched island
AUC sweet Island this is no joke just ask any ross grad. Plus Ross is having a really rough time figuring out clinicals for its 400/semester class. Oh yea and if u go to Ross and fail one class u must retake the entire semester including classes u passed

What are BBCs?
Bailey's Banana Coladas... they are an island dessert cocktail... quite delicious.
