I googled windsurfing in Grenada but haven't found good info on the subject. If any readers of this forum windsurf, some info would be greatly appreciated.

I'm planning on windsurfing on a regular basis (at least every week when studies allow, more often when possible). For the two years a student is on Grenada, is it better to buy or rent gear (say a technoII with all-carbon rigging and a quiver of two or three good sails) ?

If buying is preferred, is it better to buy locally or ship gear down?

Is there a good market for used gear and is there a good local sail shop?

Where are the good spots for windsurfing close to campus and is beach storage available?

Is a car necessary if you own your own gear?

Thanks for all the peeps in this thread helping incoming students like myself.

Sail Fast,
Jake

I've only seen people windsurfing off Grand Anse beach. I'm pretty sure you can rent one there. Try a google search on Dive shops in Grenada, Aquanauts might have one you can rent, not sure tho. Don't know much about the equipment, but there is almost always wind in Grenada so that shouldn't be a problem.

Haven't seen any local sail shops, although I haven't been looking. I'm sure there is something around considering the amount of sail boats on the island.

If you own your own gear, I would say a car is definitely necessary. SGU has a great bus system, but there is no way you would be able to take your gear with you on the bus. (If you got housing close to Grand Anse, you could maybe carry your gear to the beach)

Hope that helps
