Hey there, I am just beginning the process of applying to various Polish Med school 6 year english programs; including MUW. Ideally, I'd like to go to Krakow since I have relatives there that would accommodate me. And YES I am a soon-to-be high school graduate who was originally gonna study Life Sci for 4 years then app. to med school, but why not just go right away and save time and money?

I live in Toronto, you? Also, how was your interview / entrance exam experience?

Warsaw has no interviews/entrance exams.
If you're coming from Americas well be prepared they WILL NOT SPOON FEED YOU. It's up to you how much you want to get out of it. We've had a few americans drop out because they were not prepared for let's say "the real world".
Warsaw will either be a place in which you fall in love with, I can say I have and many of my other 1st years. Or you will constantly whine, not so many of those.
Pretty much anyone from Canada is from Toronto :P, so you'll feel at home. Student nightlife is very good and a great way to relax, just don't go into the mentality that you have to study 24 hours a day... It's tough but if you go crazy like that well it won't help.
I'd advise against the dorms, as even though there are people who love it, they end up being in a cocoon world revolving around the dorms...
Erm I dunno what else you'd like to know. It's one hell of a rollercoaster, oh and btw bring a spare liver :P.

Thanks for your help!
I was wondering what is the average age for students in the 6 year MD program? I'm only 18 and in Canada, probably 90% of first year student are either 18 or 19. What's it like in Warsaw?

I'm the youngest at the university atm, 18. Majority are 20+
Scandinavians have a weird thing about Med school so most of the ones that join are like 20-21 and they are the main european element. Saudis and Malaysians I'm not exactly sure about their exact age, some are much older some are 18-19.
I mean it doesn't make a difference at all. I think it's more fun with older people.

Hi,
You mentioned that Malaysians are there? By the way how many Malaysians are there? How many is in your badge?

Are you currently studying in University of Warsaw or Medical Academy Warsaw?

Do they offer you scholarship or tuition weaver for excellent students?

May I know why did you choose Warsaw other than other country such as Romania etc? Which have a lower fees etc.

A lot of Malaysians... I'd say about half the year. Most of them are here on scholarships.
Medical Academy? Never heard of it. I'm at the Medical University of Warsaw.
I've never heard of anyone other than Malaysians getting scholarships, which i think their government pays for, so ok maybe the same for Saudis but their contract with the university ends this year so I doubt there will be many Saudis next year.
They don't do tuition wavers, nor scholarships via the university itself. If you don't want to pay for tuition go to the polish division (and also have polish citizenship).
I don't know anything about the standard of Romanian medical education, I'm half polish, knew people at the university already studying there, have family in warsaw, like scandinavians, generally know more about the uni here.
Anything else?

Thanks for your reply! Yes I have a few more >.<

When are we suppose to start apply?

Can I apply for the 4 year MD without physics? Is the 4 year MD degree equivalent to 6 year MD?

Do they have any interview for 4 year MD? How and where would the interview take place? Is the interview by phone?

Are the competition for 4 year MD is high? Do they reject applications?

If we would to apply for 4 year or 6 year MD, should we go through agentttttttttttt or apply straight to uni?

Thanks!
