I would appreciate your views on a comparison of these two schools regarding the following:

Southwestern University (Philippines) - Admitted to the 4-year program (starting in the first year)

Constanta (Romania) - Admitted to a 6-year program with a "promise" to begin in the 3rd year (hence 4 years of studies)

I am from the USA, and according to the applicable State statute, FMGs must have 60 college credits prior to admission and, at least 4 years of MD studies.

I can satisfy those requirements with both, so what would you advise?

I heard the SWU is very rigid and competitive, with high failure and attrition rates, and no "second" chance. On the contrary, I understand the Constanta is more understanding, accommodating, and does give a "second" chance.

Thanks,
Ron

My view; Romania in EU, Philipinnes not in EU, so i would recommend Romania.

beware who did you the promise for entering 3d year ; if you don't have credits from a med school (anatomy , histology , physiology mainly for first 2 years) , this looks like an agent's promise , cause there is no such "4 years prog" in Romania admiting BSc students (I was in your case , with all prerequisite in Bio , Chem and physics , and began in 1st year)

actually what can I say better? univ are not very cooperative in east europe
In Oradea one student got from IR dept a letter stating that university is providing accomodation. That must be signed and stamped by rector
a serioux univ should be able to issue such a document http://nsa10.casimages.com/img/2009/10/18//091018021054734728.jpg
