Hi,

Odessa, Ukraine.

I am 37 years old. My Highschool GPA is 3.7. Physics - B, Biology -A, Chemistry A. College degree in Economics with 3.4 GPA. 75% finished with MBA which I am taking online now.

I am a USA citizen who tried to apply to this school. I am fluent in Russian. Let me tell you what's up. If you are from India, don't bother reading this, just pay the bribe to your man in Ukraine and you will have no problems.

There are 2 main people in the university who try to extort the students: Sergey Egnativich (director of international admissions, aka 'the alcoholic' telephone # +38-048-7178925) and Sofia Velkovna (international admissions, aka 'my head hurt, drink too much last night and I don't read English too good' telephone # +38-048-7317047)

Let me write this post as a diary:

September 1: Spoke to Sergey who told me to email my high school diploma, high school transcript, copy passport, application, letter of request for admission to 'meg at omdu.od.ua' and fax it as well to +38-048-7178925.

September 3: Spoke to Sergey who told me to speak from now on to Sofia. (He is almost impossible to get a hold of, because he is always 'in restaurant' as the secretaries say)

September 3,4,7,8: Could not reach either Sofia or Sergey because they are either away in restaurants or busy. (14 calls total)

September 9: Sofia said she never received a fax or an email.
September 9: resent fax and email and secretary said she printed it out and given int to Sofia
September 10: Sofia yelled at me that she received nothing.

this pattern continued until October 5. I sent a total of 20+ emails and faxes and 300+ telephone calls as well as 2 western union packages with notarized paperwork.

On October 6, a secretary with whom I've been speaking and got close with, told me the real deal. You need to pay a hefty bribe, but since they have a hindu and a nigerian who takes care of that, unless you are from those 2 countries, they dont know how to deal with you. I asked 'how much?' and she didn't know but its in the thousands of US dollars i was told.

October 13. My admission was refused and no reason was given except that they still never received my secondary school diploma. No matter how hard I tried to explain that a 'high school diploma' is a 'secondary school diploma', they wouldn't budge. Quote from Sofia on September 24 "Don't tell me that a Secondary School is the same as High School. They are not. I know. <click>"

So unless you want to give them a $5000 bribe and hope they don't kick you out the next year unless you pay another $5000, I would stay away from them. They love Hindu students because hundreds go there every year, each paying a bribe, so its an established pipeline.

I recorded a conversation with one of the people in admissions asking me for a $5000 bribe and will forward it to every accrediting agency.

Ukraine still thinks that Stalin is alive and they are the gimps of Soviet Union. No wonder EU doesn't want them to join.

I guess that means that everyone from Britain is ineligible to apply with their inadequate secondary school education.

On a serious note, that really sucks, but in the long term you are probably best off having that experience now and not a couple of years down the line when you are already completely committed.
