1/3 of Resdencies are in the state of NY

Hi,

I recently attended a International University fair and the AUA rep. said that i shouldn't even consider caribmed. schools such as st eustatius, umhs, and xavier b/c they are not NY approved. She continued to say that 1/3 of Resdencies are in the state of NY and by attending the schools which dont have NY approval, i will hav a great disadvantage. Is this alll true? are 1/3 of Resdencies in the state of NY??

Its close to 1/4 but yes there are a lot of ny programs.I wouldn't recommend caribbean schools in general unless you have an incredibly strong passion for medicine and no options to get into a us md or d.o school.Its just not worth it.

do not go to any school not approved by a state medical board nor should you go to any school that has clinicals in non-teaching hospitals
