Hello Sirs/Madams,
Would any of you medical students, doctors or native Filipino's be able to give me any advice on AUF, angeles univ foundation. Although I have never heard anything negative, I never assume I have all the information. Does anyone know about the tuition, the atmosphere in around the school locale, housing. Thankyou in advance for and feedback. There has only been one comment in almost 200 threads that one Austrialian student briefly mentioned AUF as a better alternative than Fatima University. Please let me know.

how about a little background about you first.... like where are you from or our nationality since I'm assuming you are asking b/c you are considering going there.... if ppl would only complete their location in their profile as I have mine, I would not have to ask the question. Not directed to you but its almost like ppl don't want others to know... or ............? Sorry for the rant....
I know a little bit about AUF as I visited it and spoke with its principals...

This is an old established school. Here is their website Angeles University Foundation School of Medicine (http://somauf.com/index.html)
Most of the foreign grads they have are Indians but you can ask them for specifics.

But I wonder just how many US residency admissions committee members would let out a chuckle if they saw an applicant who went to school in Angeles City. Its ignorant, and unfair to a decent mid-range Filipino school. But as IMGs we have so many biases against us, having Angeles City on your diploma would be the equivalent of being an alumnus of Amsterdam High (... school I mean... lol)

"...or are ashamed of something....? Sorry for the rant...."
Wow...thats how you answer a question!...you should be sorry since you have a lot to learn. Why did you choose medicine?
Do you realize your tone has a strong sense of arrogance?
Please dont waste anymore of your precious time responding to my questions.
I have grown children in medicine that could teach you some needed humility.
The questions I pose are for the benefit of the forum.
Paahtrik, I don't mean to offend anyone and am sorry if I offended you..... as I said, I am buggled (and frustrated) as to why ppl do not indicate their location in their profile... I am therefore left guessing and have to ask. IMO, it is one of the rules of ethics in a forum. Also, IMO, it just makes communicating in a forum much easier. Thank you for indicating that you are in the Carolinas.
Anyway, Trauma is correct. I did notice there is a fairly large population of students from India in AUF. In fact, they were about the only foreign students in AUF at the time according to the admin. When I visited about 2 years ago, they were in the process of expanding their hospital. No doubt it is still a very young and small university located right on the old McArthur hiway about 10-15 min from the North Diversion Rd. They are somewhat lacking in good accommodations for foreign students. However, one of their claim-to-fame is having one of their grads in the top 10 in the Philippine Board back in 06 or 07. There was a link online on this.
Comparing it to DLS-HSI, another school remote from Manila, I would probably prefer DLS as they are much more established and know of how well their grads are doing at least in the US. Thats not to say that AUF will not get to that point at some point.
I have also been at DLSHSI. Their staff are comprised of mostly UP alumni. They also have a more diverse foreign student body.

AUF has been around since 1983, however, I agree that their facilities are not that good compared to other schools. They probably charge less tuition than their Metro Manila counterparts. It's not really a popular school with fewer applicants that's why they have to sort to tie-ups with some Indian agencies or schools. I have not been to the area for a long time so it's better to visit and investigate for yourself.
