To anyone who's listening --
Just wanted to make sure if there was a rule that disallowed Med grads who had not passed in the first shot to appear for the USMLE. I have excellent marks in all subjects and also in Internal Med and Allied subject (65%) -- but did not make the 50% in the clinical exams, so was not allowed to graduate with my class. But I had excellent marks in Theory (going by the class standard of my batch -- people with less than my average score graduated).
Does this mean that I will face any difficulties in pursuing a Medical Career in the US?

As far as i know this will not influence you negatively when it comes time to do the USMLE...where you might have the trouble is when you apply for a residency, or perhaps even when you get licensure....
When you apply for a residency, they will take a look at your marks in University, and this will most probably mean you will have a hard time at top tier programs...

Hi Hasnain,
Taking steps just requires u you to clear MBBS, no matter in how many attempts, with supplies without supplies,or even if one is detained,it just requires u to finish ur MBBS no matter how many attempts, this is very clear. All u need to have is a good score in ur steps, that is unbeatable, if u get an 80 s or 90s u definitely will have a good residency programme and i know many examples in front of me, another hinderance is visa these days, i know a few ppl though who scored 90s and were not given visa, but should hope for the best,at least this is how i take itand if u r already in usa,all u need to concentrate on is, preparation and high hopes.Good luck and hope this answers ur question and helps.
Regards,
Sana
