I've just been accepted and am wondering how easy it is to live in st. kitts without a car.. I plan on living in one of the apartments around the school, so walking to school wont be a problem for me-- however, my concern is for things like groceries or any other things that are off campus (and if they are walking distance).

also, i was wondering if i could get by with bringing a bicycle that would get me around.. thanks

Life without a car isn't bad at all. I recently am sharing a car w/ my roommate, but until then I was fine for 6 months just walking everywhere. If you're living close to the school, then I wouldn't think that it'd take more than 10-15min tops. Groceries aren't far either; the closest place, Best Buy, is maybe a 10-20 min walk from the houses next to school

I've seen some people w/ bikes, but ride w/ caution; there's barely any sidewalks out here and roads are narrow, so you can get hit pretty easily

i figured the roads aren't like america, i've been on my fair share of caribbean islands.. i'm just wondering if biking would be a good option to and from school..

also, does anyone have pics of the area around school? not the campus itself, i've seen the pics from the website, i'm talking about the immediate area.. is it hilly and not so conducive to bringing a bike?

The roads are actually pretty flat, so there's little worry about hills... that is, unless you live in Mattingley Heights, then you'll have a big hill to bike up on your way back.

If I remember to take some piccis I'll post them up.
