How is the quality of the internet connections on the island? I've read that it is still dial up in some places? Is it good enough to use skype?

I've never heard of dialup internet here. It's not bad if you're willing to share it with a few people and shell out 40-50$/month each. Good enough for Skype on most days, anyhow.

if u buy the fastest internet connection for your home (GOLD package), your gonna need to shell out $40-50/month

To give u an idea how fast you can download, my fastest speed was 45kb/s, bearing in mind i share with other roommates. Usually its 30kb/s download speed for me.
