So the new charts for residency are out, and I just wanna give heads up to ppl who are preparing for step 1. A friend told me that its gonna get much tougher to get residencies starting 2010 and seems like 2009 proved to be so. Alot of residencies that would take students with step 1 score of 210-220 now require at least a 230 or so. Take step 1 serious and stop studying just for pass. An unfortunate trend in our school is that alot of students study just to pass and are happy with 185! We have good teachers and hopefully things will change.

One more very serious concern. The school does not have ACGME accredited clinical rotation sites. If it does, may be extremely few.

K, to be honest i dont know what you are talking about, but as far as I know the roatations at Chicago, or for that matter any other place are all either greenbook or bluebook.
I am doing rotations with alot of students from Ross and Saba, and they are at the EXACT same rotations that I am, so there is NO concern about it. The greenbook rotations are the ones in which the hospital that u are rotationg for lets say Family has residency for Family. The bluebook are the ones that the hospital has a particular residency, and they use that to put other rotations undre "umbrella", so u can get credits for them.
I was VERY concerned at the begining, (I am a decent student with a pretty good step score and am trying to get residency of intermediate difficulity) but after talking to other students who have scored 260 + and are doing the same roations from other schools, now i realise that there is nothing to worry about.
One last thing, i have said it many times, This school has one of the best clinical sites and the fact that there is not that many students (compared to ross where each semester is 500+ students) gives us MANY options to move around and not wait for other students. Also the people at NY office are VERY VERY helpful, the director has a cellphone that u can contact him till 10 pm anyday!!!
anyways, take my word, this school has nothing to worry about when it comes to spots for rotations. What u need to be concerned about is doing well on step.
all the best

There usually is not much activity on the clinical students board, so I have to make my request on this one. Folks help me and let me know which ones from the following have ACGME accredited programs (these hospitals are listed on the school's website (public record).
Harbor Hospital, Baltimore, MD
North Colorado Medical Center, Greeley, CO
Carilion Medical Center, Roanoke, VA
Mayo Clinic, Scottsdale, AZ
Jackson Park Hospital, Chicago, IL
Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, IL
Brentwood Hospital, Shreveport, LA
Louisiana State University, Shreveport, LA
University Medical Center, Lafayette, LA
Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD
Cherry Hospital, Goldsboro, NC
Metro Health Medical Center, Cleveland, OH
Cook County Hospital, Chicago, IL
I have recenly heard about Dekalb at Atlanta. Students who have done rotations at the above hospitals can indicate their experiences, especially the fact whether or not they are ACGME accredited teaching hospitals. And how long is the wait time, if any.
Any help is appreciated.

GB,
Here is a website that may help:
AMA - FREIDA Online (http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/education-careers/graduate-medical-education/freida-online.shtml)
It lists ACGME programs. You can search by specialty and/or state.
Also try googling each hospital's website. There is usually a link on the site to graduate medical education. Then you should find a list of residency or fellowship programs.
