Any PM&R residents out there that would like to share their experiences or have advice for us who are applying to that specialty this year?
Just wanted to touch base with some AUC grads that applied for PM&R.
Thanks!

If this is who I think it is... (table 17 represent!) PM me or send me a message on FB. I know someone who is currently doing PMR who you can probably talk to.

I did an elective on PM&R for a month. They are a very laid back group of pretty nice people...most with pretty low board scores from what I gathered...at least at my hospital. There are many attendings who run successful private practices and their are many DO's in the field as the ability to do osteopathic manipulation techniques on the spine etc adds a lot to what you can do as far as pain management goes.
The field also includes Traumatic Brain Injuries, Stroke treatment + therapy as other areas besides the typical PT/OT disposition and chronic pain management or acute rehab following motor vehicle collisions, workplace injuries, etc.
The TBI and Stroke Chair of our hospital is a PM&R Doc who did a Stroke/TBI fellowship at Cornell.
Hope that helps a little. Theres a lot of info online too.
