I recently applied for professional student line of credt for Saba at TD Bank (Canada) and I was told that Saba University School of Medicine "does not qualify" for professional SLOC. Haven't a lot of students claimed they got the loan and started studying medicne at Saba? Looking forward to hearing from you.

td wasnt available when i started...i have rbc...so try them...their service is much better anyway
I'm enrolled for Jan '10 and just received the TD LOC last week. If they don't have it designated then check your provincial/federal loan service website. It's a designated school under them so print out that sheet and show it to the bank.

The OP is talking about the PROFESSIONAL LOC which is only given to students going to a Canadian medical school, or US school with a cosigner. That LOC has no interest pay back till 12 month after residency.
IF you are going to Saba you are gonna have to get a regular 150 000 LOC with prime+1 or prime I believe.
good luck!
in that case, you should try rbc...they offer the same terms as td, but with 6 mth deferment after graduation.

No I received the student LOC at prime rate. It took an extra day for them to verify the school but it's the same LOC that Canadian students get w/ the same stipulation that you pay back 12 months after graduation and only pay monthly interest on the amount borrowed.

I think they all make you start paying 12 months after grad, not residency, right?

Your information is wrong. I got a professional LOC from RBC.

RBC was awesome to deal with, even though I didn't have an account with them before. But I definately will now!
