I wonder how many 1st semester students have dropped out of class even prior to the first mini. So far I have heard of 3 who couldn't handle the pressure. This is of course here say and I don't know for sure. I do wonder though. I know, i know it doesn't make a difference to my studies blah blah balh and I shouldn't be worried about how many dropped blah blah blah and I should be more focused on my own mini 1 troubles blah blah blah ..... blah blah. I am just curious.

What pressure? Mini 1 will be the easiest mini out of all the exams you'll take in first semester.
the time prior to mini one is always teh worst attrition. people miss home, people cant handle the workload, people cant live away from the mall, etc. my class lost over 50 before mini 1, and about 80 before the final exam. some people get there and then think the trouble isnt worth the endpoint. take it from someone who is there. multiply the trouble by 20, and its still worth it. tough it out, its only 16 months to miami.

The toughest semester is "{insert the semester you are in}" and the toughest exam is "{insert the exam you are about to take}"
The point being surely: it may be (and is) the easiest mini of the semester but it sure doesn't feel like it, or it won't feel like it until we are done with it. To me, my current predicament is the toughest yet and I'll deal with the future ones as they come. :)[/code]

i totally agree with you
for me first semester was difficult from day one until the end.
hindsight is always 20/20, but when you are going through it, it is a whole different situation. second is just as rough for me as first. i didn't have the genetics/cell bio/biochem background like my peers. everything looked foreign from day one. it's true that the first mini is easy compared to the others. but how does that help you by knowing that ahead of time?
keep your chin up
please review the brs'/lippincott for your classes and finish every single mini question. :D
oh yeah, almost forgot
attend the genetic reviews
very helpful info
