Hi,
I was hoping that someone could provide with the names, and numbers if possible, of the groceries and pharmacies on the island.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, you might be in for culture shock. The pharmacy is the hospital. The grocery stores are all very small. If you are planning on calling them to ask if they carry certain items, don't waste your time or money. The stores carry different items week to week. It is totally dependent on what the boat brings into the island. My wife and I always found this to be sufficient as long as you aren't stuck on a certain brand. If you have more questions feel free to PM me and I'll do my best to give you any answers you have. Also, many people take day trips over to St. Maarten once a semester to stock up on frozen meats. It is much cheaper that way. Normally you can pay for your travel and get the food and still save money as opposed to just buying it on Saba.

Actually there is a pharmacy. Its down the street from Mystore.
Its actually the nicest store on the island. You walk in and they have all sorts of beauty products, pharmaceuticals, etc.
In terms of grocery stores there is 2 in the Bottom:
Mystore is more popular since its closer to school and there is a more
local one that is near the hospital.
Up in Windwardside there are 2 which are MUCH nicer than Mystore.
Since you're a 1st semester you'll be in the Bottom so you'll probably go
to Mystore.

There's no reading assignments or anything, so you can get older editions. You could even get a different anatomy or histo book from what they recommend. As you're studying whatever topic, you can read through the relevant sections in your books.

I stand corrected. Saba seems to have grown TONS in the past 15 months. I am laughing a bit that you would call one grocery store "more local". I mean, come on, the hospital is like 100 yards from My Store. Unless the island shifted I'd say everything is "local".

you know...you can freeze them from home and take it with you in a suitcase...thats what i used to do...
there isnt good quality flour available on the island (its for baking, etc - not the whole wheat flour that i like)...besides you really would be wasting a LOT of time kneeding the dough, rolling it with a pin, storing it, cooking it...best is to get pre-made stuff, and microwave and eat and get back to work...
you'll figure it out...:D
it was just funny the way you said it...

are you calling that store a pharmacy which is opposite to the library, near the hospital, a pharmacy!? LOL...
really? they carry medicines?
ive been there a couple of times...i didnt see any...i just used to buy chicken enchaladas from there...their selection is minimal and the store looked quite shady compared to mystore.

kenny was recently arrested so that means most of your pharmaceutical needs will not be met this semester. Hopefully someone else steps up to the plate.....

Nope I think you guys are talking about 2 different places. The place you're talking about is a dinky grocery store. Along the same road as mystore, there is a nice pharmacy. The nicest interior of any store on the island of Saba.
Its a full blown pharmacy with a pharmacist that also sells other things like beauty supplies, toiletries, etc...all kinds of shampoos, body sprays, etc.
