hi,

i know that right now St. Kitts is in its hurricane season. I wonder if I need to bring long-sleeved shirts? Thanks.

Hurricane season does not mean the temperature drops. If anything, the added rain will only help to increase the humidity. I would pack an umbrella, raincoat, and a flashlight with batteries. I would also get an alarm clock that runs on batteries. Believe me, the only time you will ever need anything with long sleeves would be if the library is cold. I think its been steady around 80F every single day for the past 4 months.

hurricane season = warm, humid, windyyyyyy

Bring a windbreaker/raincoat for those sudden showers, otherwise the temp outside is ALWAYS 75-85F year round, so summer wear is usually what you'll have on is summer wear

Bring hoodies and jackets if you plan on being in the library all day, b/c it gets cold and it's way different from the climate outside

thanks guys..

hey Calvin, I have another question. Did you happen to have 3 checked-in baggages? I'm flying with American Airlines and the web site says that for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th checked-in bags, it costs $100 per piece. Did you or anyone you know brought out more than 2 checked-in bags?

thanks

I only came in with 2 checked and one carry on duffel bag in case my luggage got lost lol

There were a couple of people who came in with more than 2. I personally think 2 is enough; you're here to study, so other than some clothes, books/scrubs/dissection kit, and some food from home, everything else is stuff you can do w/o or bring back to the island when you go home for break.

Hey,

I've called AA and inquired about baggage. It's 2 pieces checked for free. Each must weigh 50 lbs. If you go over by 20 lbs there is a $50 charge, if you go over by double there is another $50 charge, totaling $100 extra. You can check a third bag for $50 - but they did not say anything about going over the weight limit here, I would assume the same as the above. For carry on bags - no more than 40 lbs.

Hope that helps!

Cheers
