We have ot had anyone choose to go into residency or apply for residency in Colorado yet.
Based on a review of their application, it doesn't look like there would be a problem. As always, choose good rotations, and keep great records(PA is big on this as well). The Admin office is always more than happy to assist you in providing documentation and information in support of alumni applications.
We actually just signed an agreement with a new clinical site in Colorado, and it should be added to the list on the website soon.
Have a great day!

Hi JP,
I'm glad to see CO become one of the clinical sites for St. Matthews students. This is huge! Can u shed any insight on how many cores students can do there and at which hospitals? thankx.

Sure!
It's the Health One consortium, which includes St. Luke's, Rose, Spalding, Swedish, etc...
They have green rotations for Internal Medicine, Family Practice, and OB/GYN.
There will be non-green rotations available in connection with this agreement in Surgery, Psych, and Peds.
There will be 1 spot for each specialty, so 3 green and 3 non-green. If it turns out to be a benefit for both sides, this will hopefully increase in the future.
Westward bound,

Not yet, but a student knew about Colorado before I did, so who am I to say?
As always, watch the clinical site list for updates.

JP,
If a student does the three green rotations along with the three non-greens, will this have any negative effect on their future licensing in the state? Or are the three green core rotations sufficent to exempt the student from such licensure complications? I'm asking this because you once said that it's disadvantageous to do cores at non-green hospitals.

Green rotations allow you the freedom to practice in certain states. If I were going through my rotations, I would do all green, just to play it safe.
If you're planning on practicing in CO, I would do all green, just because the state application puts the burden on the IMG to prove that their education was adequate.
