All medical colleges in Nepal award the MBBS degree and all but one are recognized by the medical council of India (MCI). I believe that all are also registered with the WHO. I have a cousin who graduated from
B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medical and Health Science (http://www.bpkihs.edu), completed her USMLEs and is doing a residency in Ob/Gyn in Ohio. While talking once, she explained that south asian medical students are forced to resort to more traditional diagnostic tools and "decision trees" vs. their high tech, western counterparts. They don't always have the most advanced diagnostic equipment and labs (this is changing though). However, the wealth of clinical experience amassed by sheer numbers of patients alone and learning about various (ie. tropical) diseases that we don't see here is second to none. Indian and Pakistani trained doctors have little difficulty in meeting licensing requirements in the USA, which is why approx 30% of the medical (M.D) establishment in the USA are from the Indian subcontinent. India, Nepal, Sril Lanka and Pakistan have VERY similar medical school curriculums and methodologies.

Here are a few more Nepali medical colleges:

-Kathmandu University, College of Medical Sciences

-Manipal College of Medical Sciences (MCOMS)
http://www.manipalgroup.com/mcoms

-Nepal Medical College
http://www.nmcth.edu/

-Tribhuvan University, Institute of Medicine

Hope this helps!

About me: I'm a 2nd year science student at UofT in Toronto. Med School is super competitive here in Canada but I'm still going to try within North America. I come from a family of doctors and all my uncles and cousins have emmigrated to the USA from India and are successfully practicing in their respective fields.
