How is the gross anatomy lab set up at AUC? Is it a combinded lecture/lab, or are they separate? Also, How many students/cadaver? Are you tested in a practical format? (i.e., what is this?)
Just curious....

that all depends on the size of the class which varies from semester to semester. for example, my class had 55 people in its first semester where the class after me began with 130 or so people. this will determine the setup of the course. the setup of the incoming class in sept. might vary a bit depending on its size. usually you have lecture in the morning for about an hour, go to lunch for an hour and then go back to lab from 12:30 to 3pm. most labs cannot be completed in the allotted time, especially since the profs do a prosection demo for the class so most labs end after 3pm. there are about 13-16 cadavers per semester depending on class size and the groups range from 5-7 people per cadaver. the lecture is meant to reenforce the lab component. the anatomy exams consist of 5 examinations. the first four exams are worth 100 points (45 from the written exam and 55 from the practical examination). the written exam is a multiple choice exam consisting mostly of clinical related questions referring to anatomy. the practical is 55 stations, fill in the blank, 60 seconds per station. the final exam (5th exam) has 100 questions for the written (75 being comprehensive questions from the whole semester and 25 questions of new material taught since the 4th exam) and a 50 question lab practical to cover the last of the course in lab. overall you need a 70% from all 5 exams to pass the class (385/550 points i believe if my math is right).

The lecture portion is done in a usual written exam format, i.e 45 questions in passage/vignette form with 4 - 5 multiple choice answers filled in on a scantron form.
The practical is 55 questions in which you rotate around the anatomy lab through various stations and are asked to identify labelled structures from either cadavers, bone, or images (x-ray, MRI, CT, angiogram, etc.). As Levator stated above, both exams are meant to complement each other.
