Due to the economic situation and the major fact that some of the suggested and required books for UMHS's first 4 semester are in three digits, I have searched the internet and the world to find free ebooks for incoming September 09 students (of which i am a proud member of). I only ask in return that if only has the ebook version of any of the books i don't have to please send it to me. In order to get the ebooks, you have to send me your email at bshjoy@yahoo.com Again, I am doing this just to help.. no rude messages please..
The University has no objection to students using any other resources that are in the public domain or for which they have paid, but the fact that certain textbooks have been designated by UMHS as "required" should indicate that the course directors consider these books to be essential to the successful completion of the courses.
Feel free to use whatever else you want, but please consider the required textbooks, expensive though they are, an investment in an education that will last you a lifetime.

Thank you, i have majority of the required but since the books for first semester where changed today, it really helps my cause (reducing my cost for first semester).. One question, UMHS, The histology lab manual on the textbook list is it UMHS printed (i.e. can i buy it from someone where else or only at UMHS bookstore), The answer to my question would be greatly appreciated..
That particular manual is available only thorugh the University Bookstore. It was published especially for UMHS students.

Joe, you might consider skipping the Histo lab book -- we didn't use it this past semester and you can always pick-up a copy after you are here, in the event it becomes necessary.

Renton's book is very nice but again, probably not necessary at this stage in your education. Your Anatomy Class will include some very interesting lectures on clinical correlations using various imaging modalities--the prof. is a practicing surgeon, very entertaining and clearly knows his stuff. He will provide hand-outs & downloaded PPTs with enough images for the depth of coverage necessary for this course. You can find plenty of extra supplementation for free on the Internet.
BTW: the title is misleading--the book is printed with color-tabbed pages but I only noticed a single color image in it! The imaging modalities presented only use B+W anyway.
Hope this helps.
