from what I gather regarding the rotting beef stories on the island, I wouldn't be eating sushi there anytime soon, unless I catch the fish myself.

Being from Hawaii where there is a large demographic of Japanese and therefore a good number of world class sushi restaurants, I must say I am sorely disappointed by the island's selection of sushi. Here's my short list of decent sushi places:

Bamboo Bernies...try the Bulldog, Rasta, and coconut shrimp rolls. $$$
Inidana Beach Bar...decent sushi, affordable. $$
Hanabi...bleah, and expensive, too. :roll: $$$

For the most bang for your student loan buck, go to Bamboo Bernie's...best sushi, and best sushi commercial, too!

BTW *****...
Sushi = fish (raw or cooked) rolled in rice
Sashimi = raw fish.:P

Aloha,

Actually I enjoy raw meat dishes too, but from the stories I hear about the meat on the island I think I will have to forgo my capaccio (sp) and steak tar tar for two years.

I figured and island would have good raw fish.

Here's another thing. Please tell me that the sushi places there aren't heavy avocado users, or that food there in general isn't covered in avocado.

I can eat that, but raw fish (practically any fish, actually) is where I draw the line.

waste of money to even think about having sushi on this island... if you love good sushi, then eat it for the next ____ consecutive days that you're still in the US because it is expensive and taste like mall sushi(my opinion).

BTW, We tried sushi on St. Barts... gourment capital my A$$!!!! :wink: :wink:

heh.. funny you suggest that. Since I'm going to be in the middle of nowhere all summer that has been exactly what I have done for the last two weeks. :)
