The frequency doesn't really matter. You're not buying multiple forks, are you?

hi there, I was at U of T book store and purchased some medical supplies. they had the 512MHz only and not the 1100MHz. Even the sales associate was surprised to hear of the 1100MHz one. On the list of required supplies it says 'Tuning forks: Two'. What kind of 'Skin Calipers' are they referring to. Would it be the one for skinfold to measure the body fat? Also, would we not need an autoscope as it is not on the list? Thanks.

I think it's the skin fold, these are what i bought:

Amazon.com: MyoTape Body Tape Measure: Health & Personal Care

Amazon.com: Accu-Measure Fitness 3000 Personal Body Fat Tester: Health & Personal Care

Well, what I was trying to say was just get a 128 or 256 and be done with it. There will never be a need to have more than one (maybe if you go into neurology, you might need the others). Even the one you do buy for class will probably never be used again (except maybe on your neurology rotation).

I wouldn't bother with the skin calipers either. Just get a cheap tape measure.

For the other things:
I got a Welch Allyn Pocketscope oto and opthalmoscope (NOT junior) on ebay for like $225 (which is a steal). A Littman cardio III stethoscope (about $145). Any BP cuff, reflex hammer, watch with a second hand, and pen light will do. I think that's all you need. Good luck.
