Hey guys, i've been reading the boards for a long time but never sat down and registered for an account until now. Just wanted to see where everyone who coming into the upcoming MD1 class is coming from and so on (i know its been done before, but when those things hit 3-5 pages, people stop caring). I'm from New Jersey and I'll actually be joining you guys a couple days late (I fly in on August 2nd because i'm actually going on a big backpacking/kickboxing/other stuff trip to Bangkok, Thailand, from my home here in New Jersey until then, which luckily they said was no problem due to the first few days being orientation based).

Where is everyone else who is starting off in Xavier's MD1 program coming in from?

Anyone know where they will be living yet? I just got an apartment in Tanki Leendert

Hope to see everyone soon and have a really enjoyable semester :)

Did you get a chance to go to the local stores and check their prices and afforadability? Where did you decide to stay?

Stores are just like the U.S. except smaller. They have a costco like store called pricesmart. Prices are a little moire inflated becuase its an island, but most things are not too drastic in price.

I'm staying with a landlord. Other Xavier students stay too.

hey all,

i'm a current student here on the island...been here for a little while now.

i have a 3 bedroom house that i'm vacating at the end of this semester available at a very good price.

it's $1300 total for the house ($500 master + ensuite washroom, $400 bedroom + washroom, $400 separate one bedroom house + washroom) and there are already two girls in MD1 who are interested in the room and looking for a third.

the house has a washer and clotheslines for drying, utilities are approx. $60+ depending on ur usage of ac/water/electricity.

high speed cable internet & digital cable is also pre-installed, you can set up ur own acct or take over ours (approx. $30-40 per person per month)

it's in a very nice neighborhood and comes fully furnished (you literally only need to bring ur clothes/toiletries/bedsheets)

it's also about 5 mins drive from school.

the lease for the house runs until the end of the year.

there is also a spacious & clean 1 bedroom apt that is in the same area, $700/mth + utils.

if your interested in either, just drop a msg to me here and i'll give u more details/photos.

thanx and good luck!
