we were just told that contract is signed for two cores i think but electives have been done in six hospitals from jackson memorial to cleveland clinic. they said there are a lot of med schools in florida so its hard securing cores for foreign students. if florida is a must look at ross i think they have a set up with larkin community hospital in miami but i don't know if its for cores. PM mitchdc from the ross forum.

he said FP was signed in florida and they are working on IM and Peds. I asked after the meeting just to be clear just like the new ones in chicago since st anthony will no longer have a residency program...you were there bc your wife made you do it.

I really hope that by the time I begin my clinicals (starting AUC in Sep-04), I will be able to fullfill all the requirements in FL!

At least... I wouldn't.

I agree...if Florida is that important to you, go with Ross as they are more established there...it's silly to come to AUC on the premise that they MAY get core clinicals in a locale you want. My $0.04 (adjusted for inflation).

They've been promising Florida sites since at least Fall of '01, when I starting looking into the school.

on a clinical site opening up 'soon' in Rochester, NY?
BTW, one of the greatest cities in the WORLD!!!
bwahahaha...a nice place to live...if you don't mind the cold and unpredictable weather...
anyways, i hear they're in the works to open up a clinical site at Rochester General Hospital? I worked there for 2 years...not a bad hospital...lots of 'changes' going on with the hospital when I left.
will one be able to do all clinical rotations there? I know they've got everything in terms of being able to do all clinicals there...

I thought it was St. Mary's in Rochester, correct me if I'm wrong.

is mainly a hospice 'hospital'. Has no surgical unit...really it has nothing else other than hospice. 90%+ of the hospital is hospice the last I knew. It used to be a 'hospital' before the 'ghetto' got too bad there...they had to shut down the ED because it wasn't safe for anyone to work there.
I don't understand why of all places in Rochester they would pick St. Mary's if that really is the new clinical site?
