I was recently granted a telephone interview via email. The email instructs me to call the office to schedule an interview time. Does anyone know how long from the date in which you call that you are given an interview? Do you have any options in choosing the date and time in which you will be interviewed? I ask these questions because I am going on vacation next week and I also wish to have adequate time to prepare for the interview. Furthermore, are you given the call on your cell phone or home phone? Lastly, does anyone know what time the office opens?

Any input on the above questions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It all depends... usually its within a month or so, but if you've applied to the september class, they might interview you asap...
you can determine the date of your interview, they are flexible....
they like to interview you on your home phone not cell phone, they get pissed if they find out you gave them a cell # (for good reasosn)

when i had my telephone interview, they kinda attacked me. when they asked me the reason for being a doctor, i basically restated my presonal statement, and they got mad. so i told them my reasons for becoming a doctor hadnt changed since I wrote the letter, and they backed off. The interview than proceeded to ask me if I knew general info about the island and i said a couple of things as well as swiming, at which point the interviwer got angry again and said so you think you can swim on the island do you? I said its in the middle of the ocean isnt it? It was on speaker phone and I heard other people in the room snicker, and than after a beat the interviwer said, yea ok, you got me.
Be prepared, some people have an easy interview and others get it a little tougher.
The moral is I think they want you to know the island sucks and theres no beach and little to do except get involved in personal dramas
