Is it easy to buy a car in lublin? Is it easy to get it registered, insured, etc. Any existing students leaving lublin have a car to sell?

Not sure as far as insurance goes. If you get a car there, it'll already be registered. I do know that getting a license is hard, but I think you can drive on a foreign one for a time. Not sure of the details though.
In all honesty, i'd advise against getting a car, at least at first.
Lublin has a great transportation system (bus lines, trains) that can get you almost anywhere, and there are student discounts as far as monthly passes go. Also, Polish drivers are scary for any Americans... from what i've seen many a time the laws seem more like suggestions. Add to that that the the signs and driving laws are different than they are here (there are no stop signs, for instance, the smaller road is just required to stop for the main ones or something like that), that the road conditions are bad (rain, snow, ice, etc) a good part of the year and so on... oh, and the whole grid style road system isn't true over there, the streets are at times confusing as hell.
...you might want to wait till you're more familiar with it first.
